The spirit of Paréa
Paréa is a word for togetherness. On Lesvos, it became the name of a place: a community center where displaced people, locals, and volunteers share space, support, and time. In a political climate that builds walls, Paréa opens doors. It is colorful where things are dark.
The workshop
Paréa Prints is the screen printing studio at the heart of this community. People who arrived on Lesvos as refugees and asylum seekers learn to print, design, and produce here. They work on real orders for real clients. They build skills that travel with them wherever they go next.
And every t-shirt, tote bag, and poster that leaves the studio carries a piece of Paréa with it: a design made by someone who knows firsthand what it means to start over, produced with care by people who are usually talked about but rarely heard from.
The makers
The people at our presses come from many places and carry many stories. What they share: they are here, they want to work, and they have something to say. They are not participants in a program. They are makers. Some will go on to careers in printing or design. Others will take the skills and the confidence somewhere else entirely. All of them leave with proof that they can build something real.
The process
Paréa is wherever people choose solidarity over indifference. Paréa Prints is how we make it visible, one print at a time.
